Updated Archdiocesan Protocols COVID 19
Effective Friday 9am Friday 9 October 2020 ACT Parishes Only
Mass Numbers
Apply one person per 4sqm©÷ rule.
Maximum number of people at Mass, inside or outside, is 200.
Comments
Most parish churches will not be able to have 200, since Churches are not big enough.
Measure your Church to determine the maximum number of people permitted utilising the 4sqm©÷ rule.
Most Churches will be able to accommodate around 100 people.
COVID Safety Plan
Parishes must have a COVID Safety Plan. It includes:
o Register worshippers for contact tracing and keep record for 28 days
o Name and contact details of persons
o Churches must clearly display occupancy allowance at the entrance
o Carefully manage the entry, exit and flow of people
o Physical distancing of 1.5 metres between each group or household is required.
o Increase the frequency of cleaning for high touch areas and restroom facilities.
o The use of collection plates and other shared equipment should be avoided during services.
o Limit the use of books, if possible. If not, ensure they are cleaned between each use.
o Choirs are to remain at least 2 metres away from the congregation.
o Choir members are to be kept to an absolute minimum and are to maintain physical distancing of at least 2 metres from each other when singing.
o Musicians should remain physically distanced from the congregation.
